Two storm systems are expected to roll through the San Joaquin Valley this week, dropping another inch or so of rainfall in Fresno, according to the National Weather Service in Hanford.

Snow is expected at higher elevations around 7,000 feet, but the Valley floor should be hit with more rain starting Thursday night, with light showers occurring intermittently through Saturday morning.

Valley residents will get a brief respite from the rainy conditions on Saturday, but another storm is expected to hit the Valley again late Saturday night and will continue through Monday morning.

Around .92 inches of rain from the two systems are expected to fall in Fresno, said William Peterson of the National Weather Service, with the second system bringing 10-12 inches of snow to the upper Sierra.
