Amtrak train kills pedestrian in central Fresno
A southbound Amtrak hit and killed a pedestrian in central Fresno on Saturday.
No further information about the victim’s identity or why the victim was on the tracks was immediately available.
The incident occurred around 2 p.m. near Shields and Maria avenues, the Fresno Police Department confirmed.
The train, which had been stopped on the tracks since the accident, finally continued south shortly before 4 p.m.
