74-year-old man missing from Madera County home

Madera County sheriff’s deputies are searching for an elderly man who walked away from his home Sunday morning, the sheriff’s office said.

Alberto Barbosa, 74, went missing from the 29000 block of Avenue 22, northeast of Madera, around 10:30 a.m., the sheriff’s office said. He is reported to have Alzheimer’s disease.

Barbosa is described as a Hispanic, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 130 pounds and has short black and gray hair. He was last seen wearing black sweatpants, a green sweatshirt and brown lace-up boots, the sheriff’s office said.
