Sanger hosts suicide prevention seminar for veterans

The city of Sanger, Team AMVETS and the Tulare-Kings County Suicide Prevention Task Force are presenting a suicide prevention seminar for veterans on Feb. 20.

Sanger City Councilman and former U.S. Marine Tony Pacheco plans to attend the event.

“Across America, 22 veterans take their lives every day,” Pacheco said in a news release. “These are men and women who gave their all to protect our freedom.”

Seminar organizers encourage veterans to attend to receive education, assistance and support.

The seminar will be hosted at the city of Sanger Annex at 1789 Jensen Ave. and will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Prior registration is not required but seating is limited.

To confirm your attendance at the seminar, call Kristina Chamberlin at 559-876-6300, extension 1500. The Veterans Crisis Line can be reached by calling 1-800-273-8255, and pressing 1.
