Two dead in head-on collision in Visalia
A head-on collision in Visalia killed the drivers of both vehicles, police said Monday.
About 6:50 a.m. Monday, a 2000 Volkswagen and a 2010 GMC pickup collided head-on on Caldwell Avenue just west of Pinkham Avenue in southeast Visalia.
Killed were Molly Lovelady, 25, of Visalia, who was driving the Volkswagen east on Caldwell, and Cornelio Carrasco, 66, of Woodlake.
The Volkswagen hit the pickup truck, police said. It’s unknown why the vehicles collided and the case is under investigation, Sgt. Greg Byerlee said.
Lovelady was pinned in her car and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Carrasco was pronounced dead at Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
