CalVet withdraws GI Bill approval for Marinello beauty schools

The California State Approving Agency for Veteran Education (CSAAVE) withdrew approval for 37 Marinello Schools of Beauty in the state due to the school’s announcement Thursday that it will be immediately closing all its campuses.

CSAAVE is a division of the California Deparment of Veterans Affairs (CalVet).

“CalVet takes very seriously our duty to ensure our California Veterans receive the education and training they are paying for with their earned GI Bill benefits,” deputy secretary Keith Boylan said in a news release. “CalVet stands ready to assist veterans through this transition period as they make decisions regarding their future education.”

Eligible beneficiaries may only use their GI Bill benefits at institutions approved by CalVet.

For more information, veterans using GI Bill benefits at Marinello schools should visit CalVet’s website at https://www.calvet.ca.gov/VetServices/Pages/GI-Bill-Suspension-Information.aspx.
