Driver in serious condition after crashing into light pole in northeast Fresno home

A 57-year-old man suffered serious injuries after crashing into a light pole in front of a northeast Fresno home Wednesday night.

The driver was found unconscious in front of the home near Tenth Street and Perrin Avenue when police arrived and was the only person inside of the car, police said.

Although people were inside the home at the time, the home was not struck by the car. Only a fence and landscaping in front of the yard were affected, said police.

The driver was transported to Saint Agnes Medical Center and remained in serious condition Wednesday night.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation Wednesday night, however alcohol has not been ruled out, police said.
