CHP helicopter hoists collision victim from vehicle near Shaver Lake
A California Highway Patrol helicopter hoisted a 20-year-old man who had crashed his vehicle Jan. 29 near the edge of Shaver Lake to a waiting air ambulance that could fly him to a Fresno hospital, the CHP said.
The man, who has not been named, was seriously injured after his vehicle left Highway 168 just below the Shaver Lake Marina and overturned. He was pinned in his vehicle on the top of a boulder.
Cal Fire and emergency medical service crews removed the man from his vehicle and prepared him for the hoist.
He was flown to Community Regional Medical Center in serious condition.
