Women killed in Madera County big-rig crash identified
The two victims killed in a big-rig collision early Sunday morning in Madera County have been identified as 25-year-old Mayra Espinoza and 27-year-old Zuara Munguia-Garcia, according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.
They were traveling near Avenue 7 and Road 16, 11 miles east of Firebaugh around 5 a.m. when their car drifted into the oncoming lane of a semi-truck, killing the two women.
The big-rig caught on fire, and oil was spilled requiring hazardous material removal workers to be dispatched to the scene.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
