Battle of the barbers draws crowd to northwest Fresno

Dozens of barbers and scores of viewers gathered at the third Central Valley Barber Battle on Sunday, Jan. 24, at The Falls Event Center in northwest Fresno.

The event began with an opening ceremony at noon and ended with the awards ceremony around 5:30 p.m.

Barbers competed in categories like Freshest Fade, Tightest Taper, Comb Over Battle and more. Prizes included a share of more than $2,000 and the Central Valley Barber Battle title belt.

J-Live Entertainment, which also has produced Frozen in the Valley Singing Contest and 559 Fights Live MMA Cage Fights, organized the competition.

Sunday’s competition was held indoors, after the weather interfered at the past two competitions, which took place outdoors.
