Fresno schedules fair housing forums

Fresno is inviting residents to a fair housing forum at 7 p.m. Mondayat the City Hall Council Chambers and at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesday at the West Fresno Resource Center, 1802 E. California Ave.

The city is asking residents for suggestions on how to eliminate barriers to fair housing. Under federal fair housing laws, it is against the law to discriminate in housing based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability or familial status. The city is in the process of completing a study, called An Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice. Preliminary results of the study will be reviewed.

Anyone who is in need of special accommodations for the meeting can contact Susie Williams at 559-621-8300 or email Susie.Williams@Fresno.gov.
