Fresno man dies after hit by car while standing in Highway 41 lane
A man died early Friday morning after he was hit by a passing car while standing in the right lane of southbound Highway 41 just south of Shields Avenue, the California Highway Patrol.
The Fresno County Coroner later identified him as Steven Martin, 40, of Fresno.
The CHP said that Martin was hit by a car going approximately 60-65 mph just after midnight after the 35-year-old woman driving the vehicle didn’t see him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected in the crash. The CHP is investigating the collision.
