Fresno-area CHP sergeant to receive commendation for saving truck driver’s life
A sergeant with the California Highway Patrol will be awarded a commendation by the commissioner Thursday for saving an unconscious truck driver in 2015 by climbing into a moving big rig and stopping it as it headed toward a commercial building.
On May 28, 2015, Sgt. Hector Madrigal performed CPR after pulling the driver out of the truck.
He will receive the Commissioner’s Unit Citation from CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow as part of the Safety and Farm Labor Vehicle Education Program.
The event starts at 10 a.m. at Central Division CHP, Special Services Program Office at 5435 E. Olive Ave.
