Fresno deputy to the rescue of girl who lost teddy bear

A Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy Tuesday came to the rescue of girl who lost her teddy bear at the Fresno County Central Library.

Sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said Naomi, 6, left her teddy bear at the library during a visit. When she arrived home with her mother, she realized her mistake, but by the time the two returned, the bear was gone.

Her mother filed a lost property report with the sheriff’s office, and alert dispatchers passed it on to sheriff’s deputy Josh O’Bar. Botti said deputies routinely carry teddy bears in their cars to pass out to children, and O’Bar was able to deliver one to the girl at her home in Calwa. Naomi named her new friend Beta.
