Rain coming again to the central San Joaquin Valley
A succession of light storms is expected to bring rain to Fresno late Sunday night and Monday morning, and then again later in the week, the National Weather Service in Hanford said Saturday.
The rain, expected after 10 p.m. Sunday, follows what was a warmer than normal Saturday, which saw an observed high of 63 and low of 47 compared to a normal high of 55 and low of 38.
Before those showers arrive, Fresno will see areas of patchy fog before 10 a.m. Sunday and a mostly sunny Sunday afternoon with a high near 61.
Later in the week, the National Weather Service forecasts, rain is likely on Tuesday, with a 30 percent chance of rain Tuesday night.
On Wednesday, the skies will clear up with a mostly sunny day and a high of 59 and a low of 43.
More rain is expected by Friday night, along with a low of around 44.
Fresno has received 1.41 inches of rain since the start of the month and 6.61 inches since Oct. 1 – more than double the amount of rain that had fallen by this time last year, which totaled 3.19 inches.
