National homeless assessment starts Jan. 26 in Fresno

A three-day initiative by the Fresno Madera Continuum of Care to measure and identify homeless families and individuals will begin on Jan. 26.

Nationally, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development requires a coordinated point-in-time count every other year to understand homeless trends, track progress and ultimately ensure a comprehensive plan to address the needs of the homeless population.

The count kicks off Jan. 26 at Millbrook Presbyterian Church, at 3620 N. Millbrook Ave. in Fresno.
