Storm system likely to bring rain starting Tuesday night
The Valley is in line for another series of storms starting Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service in Hanford.
The first storm, expected to arrive Tuesday night, will cool temperatures from Monday’s high of 59. Before that storm arrives, the Valley could see areas of dense fog Tuesday morning.
Precipitation in Fresno on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning is expected to be less than 0.2 inches. In the Sierra, less than half an inch of snow is expected on Tuesday, while 2 to 4 inches is expected for Wednesday, along with gusts of wind up to 25 mph.
Tuesday’s high temperature in Fresno is expected to hit 59 again, but then dip to 56 on Wednesday.
Thursday night could see another chance of rain, and still another chance is in the offing on Friday night and Saturday.
Fresno has recorded 1.28 inches of rain this month to date, bringing the total since Oct. 1 to 6.48 inches – more than twice the 3.19 inches of rain at this time last year.
