Boy struck by car in Visalia

A 15-year-old boy was seriously hurt when a car crash forced one vehicle to collide with him on his bicycle in Visalia on Sunday, police said.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. at the Noble Avenue and Mooney Boulevard intersection.

Naomi Figueroa, 32, was eastbound on Noble Avenue in a Toyota Camry when she was struck by a Mercedes sedan driven by Ramiro Reyna, 61, who was southbound on Mooney Boulevard, police said.

The Toyota went across the intersection and hit the boy who was stopped on his bicycle on the southeast corner, police said.

The boy suffered serious injuries and was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia. He was in serious but stable condition, police said.

The drivers of both cars weren’t seriously hurt. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
