Northwest Fresno fire causes $50,000 in damages
A northwest Fresno house fire on Monday afternoon caused about $50,000 in damages, but no injuries, a spokesman for the Fresno Fire Department said.
The fire was reported around 2:30 p.m. in the 6300 block of North Delbert Avenue. It “was isolated to one room, but that room caught fire pretty well and caused smoke damage throughout the house,” said fire spokesman Pete Martinez.
Neighbors told firefighters that someone moved out of the house recently and they saw some kids going into the backyard, Martinez said. If the house was empty, he said, it appeared that people may have been squatting in the home or going in and messing around.
