Fire destroys garage east of Clovis

Fire heavily damaged a garage east of Clovis early Friday, the Fresno County Fire Department reported.

The blaze was reported about 7 a.m. in the 9200 block of East Dakota Avenue. A spokesman said arriving units were told people were trapped inside but everyone managed to get out safely. Firefighters knocked down blaze that erupted in a propane tank and then were able to keep the fire from spreading to the main living area, where there was minimal damage. The amount of damage was being assessed and investigators are searching for the cause.
