Heavy traffic expected Thursday evening around Save Mart Center

People planning to attend one of the Thursday evening events at the Save Mart Center and in neighboring Campus Pointe are warned that traffic could be thick.

Fresno State and the Save Mart Center sent out reminders to plan for delays.

Motley Crue and Alice Cooper are on the concert bill at the Save Mart Center beginning at 7 p.m. The Save Mart Center announced that the concert promoters have asked for extra security measures that will slow entry into the arena. Also, bags larger than 13 inches by 15 inches and cameras that do not fit in a pocket will not be permitted. A list of prohibited items is available at www.savemartcenter.com.

Fans are flocking to the 7 p.m. premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” at many theaters including Maya Cinemas in Campus Pointe. Maya will have 17 screenings Thursday.

Also Thursday evening, Fresno State men’s basketball coach Rodney Terry’s weekly radio show will be broadcast from Pieology at Campus Pointe beginning at 6 p.m. and has added incentive for live participation: The show will hand out 2,000 free tickets to the Bulldogs’ Dec. 27 game.
