Fire guts unoccupied house in central Fresno

An unoccupied house in the 2100 block of West Michigan Avenue was damaged heavily by flames Wednesday afternoon, Fresno firefighters reported

The fire was reported shortly after 1 p.m.

Fire Department spokesman Pete Martinez said the house has been vacant for about six months.

A neighbor said two people had been seen going into the home recently.

Martinez said investigators have been called in to investigate the cause of the fire.
