San Joaquin River Center displays UC Merced Service Learning project

An electronic kiosk sharing educational information on the San Joaquin River is now on display at the the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust.

The kiosk, which has been available for browsing since Saturday, Dec. 12, was developed by student teams and a UC Merced professor over several semesters as a project of the university’s Engineering Service Learning course.

During the course, teams of students design and implement projects for local nonprofit organizations.

Visitors can see the kiosk, which features presentations on San Joaquin River issues, at the River Center during regular open hours – Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., during school field trips and by appointment.
