Toy drives this weekend to help families in need
The HOPE Coalition and Fresno Police Department will host toy drives this weekend at Walmart and next weekend at Sunnyside High School.
The toy drives are at Walmart on Shaw and Brawley avenues from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Walmart on Blackstone and Ashlan avenues from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday and at Sunnyside High School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 19.
The Fresno Police Department partnered with Walmart and organizations under the HOPE Coalition to provide a Christmas morning celebration to approximately 150 designated families in need. Each child will receive a gift, while each family will receive a holiday meal and Christmas basket.
HOPE Coalition volunteers have been hosting toy drives at Walmarts in Fresno and Clovis over the past few weekends.
Ventura Broadcasting, Q97.1 and La Buena will assist the HOPE Coalition in promoting the toy drive events.
