Volunteers are needed Saturday to help place wreaths at the graves of U.S. military veterans.

The effort is part of the Wreaths Across America program, which has designated Dec. 12 as the day to pay honor to America’s war dead at local cemeteries.

Help is needed at Clovis, Academy and Redbank cemeteries, say organizers with the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Volunteers can simply show up at 8:30 a.m. A short ceremony will be held at 9, with wreath laying to follow.
