Driver sought after colliding with motorcycle near Porterville

The driver of a 1997 Honda Civic is sought by the California Highway Patrol after the car was involved in a collision with a motorcycle near the Eagle Mountain casino Thursday.

The CHP said the collision occurred as the Honda driver was westbound on Reservation Road approaching Tule Road. Jerry A Manuel, 26, was eastbound on Reservation on a Yamaha dirt bike. The Honda driver made an unsafe turn in front of the Yamaha and Manuel was thrown to the roadway, sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Kaweah Delta Medical Center. The Honda driver sped away on a dirt roadway into the casino parking lot and collided with a parked vehicle before abandoning the car and running in an unknown direction.
