A Fresno woman won it big just in time for the holidays, purchasing a scratcher from a gas station in northwest Fresno worth $750,000.

Katrina Randle, who bought her ticket at the Johnny Quik gas station at 6840 N. Golden State Blvd., won the top prize on the California Lottery Mystery Crossword Scratchers® ticket by filling out words from letters on the crossword. By completing the 10th word, Randle won $750,000 before taxes.

She didn’t even take time to finish the last word, vinyl – in an instant she knew she was a winner and ran to a lottery retailer to confirm the win.

Randle is the second Valley resident to claim a big lottery win in recent weeks. On Nov. 21, Selma farm-equipment driver, Jesus Sanchez, won $1 million – the biggest prize winnable on a $10 California Lottery Silver & Gold Scratchers ticket.
