AIDS quilt panels on display in Fresno on Thursday
The NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt, with local and celebrity panels, will be on display from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at The Painted Table, 1211 N. Wishon Ave., in Fresno.
The quilt display is part of a week of events in recognition of World AIDS Day, which is Tuesday. This year’s theme is “The Time To Act Is Now.”
The quilt will feature panels from Pedro Zamora, Ryan White, Freddie Mercury and a local panel from California State University, Fresno.
The Fresno County Department of Public Health will offer free Rapid HIV testing at different locations and hours during the week. Results of the testing are available within 20 minutes and are confidential.
