Man dies in ATV accident in Kings County
A 38-year-old man has died after being thrown off an all-terrain vehicle he was riding on a canal bank, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident happened about 9 a.m. Monday in the area of 6th and Racine avenues, south of Corcoran.
The CHP said the man was riding a 2006 Polaris ATV on private property, one mile west of 6th Avenue and half a mile south of Racine Avenue. The man tried to turn onto another canal road but was unable to complete the turn, the CHP said. The front of the ATV went into a dry canal.
It was not known if drugs or alcohol were a factor, the CHP said.
His name was not released pending notification of family.
