I-5-Highway 198 near Coalinga backed up as cars collide

An accident off Interstate 5 and Highway 198 near Harris Ranch has holiday traffic backed up late Sunday afternoon, with at least one person critically injured in the collision.

The California Highway Patrol reported on its traffic incident page that a vehicle possibly struck a party changing a tire near an off-ramp. A child was reportedly removed from the vehicle safely.

Paramedics were en route at 4:40 p.m.No other information was available.
