Clovis police winter coat drive revived this holiday season

Clovis police Cpl. Jared Binford has revived the department’s winter coat drive for children in Clovis.

The goal is to provide a coat for every child in need in the Clovis Unified School District. The drive runs through Dec. 15.

The public and members of the Clovis Police Department donated several hundred new or gently used coats and jackets last year.

Donors are encouraged to bring new or gently used coats to marked bins inside the Police Department lobby on 1233 Fifth Street and at multiple stores across the city. This includes the two Target and the two Wal-Mart stores in Clovis along with Marshalls, Kohl’s, Kmart and CVS at Clovis and Shaw avenues.

Sonitrol Security is also offering a drop-off point for coats at its headquarters, 3621 W. Beechwood Ave. in northwest Fresno.

Police will also accept monetary donations.
