London-based Sikh artist coming to Fresno on Wednesday as part of world tour
London-based artist Amandeep Singh of Inkquisitive Illustration will be creating art in Fresno on Wednesday evening in honor of Sikh Awareness and Appreciation Month.
In 2012 the state Legislature proclaimed November as Sikh Awareness and Appreciation Month to recognize Sikh Americans’ contributions to California and help people better understand Sikh culture.
Singh will be creating art from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Paaras Youth Center, 5470 W. Spruce Ave., No. 103, Fresno, as part of his world tour. The live art event is hosted by the Fresno chapter of the Jakara Movement, a nonprofit Sikh youth organization.
“We are so excited to bring a Sikh artist of this class to Fresno,” said Simranjit Singh, the director of the Jakara Movement’s Fresno chapter. “Artists like Inkquisitive are so inspiring for the Sikh youth and promote creativity in our young generation using different forms of mediums.”
