Fig Garden book drive challenge provides for children in need
Teams in Fig Garden Youth Soccer League participated Nov. 21 at each game in a book drive challenge coordinated by Reading Heart, the nonprofit book donation program started by Fresno 9-year-old Danay Ferguson.
The books were donated to the Fresno Police Department’s Santa’s Village Program that helps children in need during the holidays.
Fig Garden Youth Soccer League clubs offer both recreational and competitive soccer for children ages 4 through 18. Over 2,000 children play in the recreational leagues and on competitive soccer teams.
