Motorcyclist dies in collision east of Exeter

A 79-year-old motorcycle rider has died in a collision on a rural road in Tulare County east of Exeter, the California Highway Patrol said Monday.

About 10:10 a.m. Monday, the man was driving a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle east on Yokohl Valley Drive, east of Road 228, when for unknown reasons the motorcycle drifted into the westbound lane.

He hit the left front of a 2000 Ford pickup and suffered fatal injuries. His name was not released pending notification of family.

The driver of the pickup, Ronald D. Schloesser, of Lindsay, was treated at the scene and released.

Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be factors in the collision, the CHP said.
