Fresno Bully Rescue is competing for $75,000 in the Designer Shoe Warehouse charities “shoe lovers care” grant program for nonprofit organizations.

As of 5 p.m. Friday, Fresno Bully Rescue was narrowly leading. Voting ends at 8:59 p.m. Tuesday.

Bridget Boothe, director of Fresno Bully Rescue, says the money would be used to build a new shelter. The nonprofit is renting its existing facility in northwest Fresno, 8547 W. Herndon Ave.

Fresno Bully Rescue has a ticker on its website showing the amount of money already raised for a new shelter. Fresno Bully Rescue is at capacity with 45 dogs at the shelter, Boothe said.
