The Tulare County Board of Supervisors has name Michael Spata as county administrative officer.
Last month, Spata was appointed interim county administrator after Jean Rousseau resigned to take the same job with Fresno County.
The county administrative officer is the most senior county employee charged with preparing the county budget and supervising day-to-day business.
Spata, 64, has over 38 years of public and private sector experience in administration, law and finance, including director of the Tulare County Resource Management Agency.
He has a bachelor’s degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland, a law degree from Western State College of Law, master’s of law in tax law from the University of San Diego, and master’s degrees in public administration and business administration from California State University, Fresno.
Spata will earn $185,000 annually.
