Motorcycle rider killed in Highway 41 crash identified
The rider of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle who died Wednesday evening was identified Thursday by the Fresno County Coroner as Michael Manis, 33, of Fresno.
The CHP said Manis was southbound on Highway 41 on the 2005 motorcycle at a speed of about 60 mph when he changed lanes from the middle lane to the right lane and locked his brakes, skidded and crashed. As he tried to stand, up he was struck by a 2013 Chevrolet driven by Katia Rivera, 19, of Laton who was driving an estimated 50 mph. Manis died at the scene. Rivera was uninjured.
