Tulare names new police chief
Capt. Wes Hensley has been named chief of the Tulare Police Department, the city said Thursday.
His appointment by City Manager Don Dorman to the top job takes effect Nov. 14.
Hensley has a 29-year law enforcement career, including 24 years in Tulare.
He began as a reserve officer at the Visalia Police Department and later as deputy sheriff at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department.
He fills a vacancy created by the resignation of police Chief Jerry Breckinridge, who stopped coming to work in May. The city gave no reason for his resignation.
