Dinuba’s Alta District Hospital completes bankruptcy plan
Dinuba’s Alta District Hospital, which closed in 2001, has wrapped up its Chapter 9 bankruptcy plan of arrangement after repaying all its creditors, according to Riley Walter, a Fresno bankruptcy attorney who represented creditors in the case.
The U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Fresno entered an order Oct. 31 closing the case, which had been filed in August 2001.
Shortly after the case was first filed, a group of creditors owed significant sums of money by the district hospital negotiated a plan that called for all creditors to be paid in full, plus interest, over a 10 year period.
District Administrator Clifford E. Bressler said the public hospital district will proceed with a new board of trustees: Javier Quevedo, Paul “George” Romano, Yvette Botello, Martha Swain and Irene Atilano.
