Kingsburg-area crash kills two

Two people are dead after an early-morning crash on Halloween east of Kingsburg, the California Highway Patrol said.

Debra Berry, 55, of Reedley, and Jose Sanchez, 18, of Traver, were both killed when their vehicles collided around 2:45 a.m. on Highway 201 near Road 28.

Berry was driving east on Highway 201 when, for unknown reasons, she drove partially into the westbound lane and collided with the vehicle Sanchez was driving, CHP said.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers in Sanchez’s vehicle were hospitalized with minor and major injuries. They were both taken to Community Regional Medical Center.
