The Poverello House will kick off its annual turkey drive on Monday at 9 a.m. and continue throughout November to help provide meals for the needy of Fresno.
The goal is to collect at least 2,000 turkeys to provide traditional Thanksgiving meals for those in need in Fresno.
The Poverello House also needs typical Thanksgiving meal staples such as corn, green beans, bread, potatoes, stuffing and turkeys.
“By donating one turkey or several turkeys, it allows everyone, including those in need, to take part in a holiday that reminds us to be thankful for the many blessings we receive,” said Cruz Avila, executive director of Poverello House.
