New watering rules begin on Sunday
Starting Sunday, Fresno and Clovis city officials are asking water customers to water their yards one day a week.
Fresno and Clovis will allow owners of homes ending in odd numbers to water on Saturdays and even-numbered homes to water on Sundays.
Fresno’s one-day per week rule will stay in effect until April 30, said Mark Standriff, city spokesman.
The Clovis one-day watering schedule will continue through March 31, but is subject to change, said Lisa Koehn, the city’s assistant public utilities director.
If possible, officials from both cities are requesting residents voluntarily turn off their sprinklers, especially when it rains.
