Possible jumper on Jensen Avenue overpass talked down safely
A section of Jensen Avenue was shut down Wednesday night while a rescue team worked to secure a potential jumper on the railroad overpass near Golden State Boulevard, the Fresno Fire Department said.
Battalion Chief Todd Tuggle said a coordinated effort between Fresno Police Department negotiators and the Fresno Fire Department, which set up an airbag to catch the person just in case, led to a safe conclusion.
The negotiators ultimately convinced the person to leave the aerial platform voluntarily.
Train traffic also was stopped during the incident, which lasted for a few hours.
