Runners race through Fresno State campus in breast cancer awareness event
Breast Cancer Awareness Month was specially recognized Saturday at Fresno State when scores of runners – men, women, boys and girls – ran through the sunlit campus in the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
The event is part of a national effort to raise both awareness of the disease and funds for research. Individual 5K races were held for men and women, as well as walks of varying distances and a kids race.
A ceremony to recognize breast cancer survivors also was conducted. Those who died from the disease also were honored.
