Closure and detour set on Highway 99 in Madera County

Traffic along Highway 99 in Madera County will be diverted to or from the Avenue 9 interchange as part of the Avenue 12 interchange improvement project, Caltrans said.

The northbound detour is scheduled from 11 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, and the southbound detour began Sunday and runs through Wednesday at 5 a.m.

Motorists are encouraged take alternate routes or add additional time to their commute.

Caltrans encourages drivers to be alert for equipment in the work zone.
