Chowchilla bull riding to help woman battling cancer

A bull riding event will be held in Chowchilla to raise funds for a woman who is fighting cancer.

The Smackdown Bull riding event will support Laura Padgett Brickey, who is battling non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Brickey grew up in Clovis where her father served on the Clovis Police Department for over 25 years.

The event will be held Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. at the Chowchilla Fairgrounds.

Sponsored by Brickey’s family and local businesses, the show will include mutton busting for kids and calf riding.
