Twenty people are displaced in southeast Fresno after a fire damaged four apartments Thursday.
The fire started at noon in the 4900 block of East Balch Avenue.
Firefighters found heavy fire coming from the first story of the two-story apartment. The fire extended into the second story and burned four apartments, resulting in approximately $300,000 in damages, Fresno Fire Department spokesman Pete Martinez said.
Firefighters were able to control the fire within 15 minutes.
The apartment complex will find a place for the 20 displaced people, Martinez said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and there were no reported injuries.
Six engines and two trucks responded to the fire with about 30 firefighters on scene.
