Power outage reported at Highway 198, Interstate 5

Power is out in the area of Interstate 5 and Highway 198 Thursday morning after several possibly related events happened about 7 a.m.

Fresno County Fire spokesman Ryan Michaels said firefighters first received a report of arcing power lines at a Burger King. A short time later, a power pole caught fire nearby.

Firefighters then discovered that hundreds of feet of line were down, causing a small fire that was quickly put out.

The source of the incidents is under investigation.
