Big Fresno Fair kicks off Wednesday
The Big Fresno Fair opens Wednesday for its 12-day run featuring food, local exhibits, rides, concerts and horse racing.
Some of the new exhibits and events include Egypt’s Wild Side, a Wild West Turkey Stampede and Pollywood Bird Show, a BMX Bike Show and the Fresno County Historical Museum, Barnyard Adventures and Storyville, both in Ag Ventureland.
“Fans & Followers Day” on Thursday will allow free entrance to the fair. Anyone liking the fair on Facebook or following it on Twitter will get a special bar code that will allow them to get into the fair for free on the special day.
Fairgrounds gates open at 11 a.m. Monday through Friday and at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Gates close at 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and midnight Friday and Saturday.
The kiddie carnival opens at noon Monday through Friday and at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The midway opens at 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Live horse racing will be run weekdays starting at 1:15 p.m. and weekends starting at 12:15 p.m. The track will be dark on opening day and Oct. 13-14.
