Two-alarm house fire in southeast Fresno displaces four
Four adults were displaced by a house fire that erupted at 3:30 a.m. near Kings Canyon Road and Willow Avenue in southeast Fresno on Sunday.
When firefighters arrived one garage was already engulfed in flames, which helped flames spread to the burning home.
The flames were so big that firefighters were not able to enter the home and “attack it from inside,” said Battalion Chief Tony Escobedo.
A ruptured gas line in front of the house posed a threat to firefighters. Vapors from the leak had the potential to cause an explosion.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire without flames contacting gas fumes.
The cause of the two-alarm fire is still under investigation. The Red Cross was to assist the displaced adults.
